Selling your SRECs has no impact on Net Metering.

You can participate in both net metering and sell SRECs at the same time.

When it comes to renewable energy options for homeowners or businesses, net metering and SRECs are two terms that come up frequently. While both relate to solar power, they serve different purposes.

Net metering refers to the system where excess electricity generated by solar panels is fed back into the grid and credited to the customer's account. This allows for them to draw from the grid when their panels aren't producing enough power, essentially "banking" their excess energy.

On the other hand, SRECs represent environmental attributes and involve the sale of credits earned from producing solar energy. These can be sold to utilities that need to prove they are meeting renewable energy standards.
